Launched on April 27, 2020, the DJI Mavic Air 2 is a compact, foldable drone with a 3-axis gimbal and 4K camera. As the name suggests, it is the second generation of DJI’s Mavic Air drone. Compared to its predecessor, this drone has a few new features that are not available in the original Mavic Air. It has a new 3-axis gimbal, which is more stable and can hold the camera better. The Air 2 battery lasts a bit less than half an hour. What else makes it a good buy is that you can equip it with various additional accessories such as a drop systems or even loudspeakers.
The basic equipment contains those accessories I always need for my next flight (click to enlarge):
The drop system has its own power supply and the drop is triggered by switching on the drone´s light. It has four leg extensions, so there is room for an object between the copter and the ground. Maximum load is 500 grams.
These floatable landing skids allow take-off and landing maneuvers on the water. By landing gently on the water, the quadcopter can not sink. It weighs about 300 grams. The trade-off is, of course, a reduced flight-time.
I can tell you from experience, a drone pilot quickly gets the idea of filming himself while riding a bicycle. This is where transmitter mounts come into play. It allows you to carry your transmitter with you and control your drone without any difficulties.
The PGYTECH landing pad is of good quality and ensures safe take-off and landing on meadows or bumpy terrain. The landing pad is foldable for easy transport. So far I have not needed it much, but you should have one.
Having a drone camera cleaning kit is also useful. The air blower blows away dirt and dust from your lenses or anywhere else.
The microfiber cleaning cloth that can be used to gently remove dust and dirt from your lens.
The brush can be used on digital camera sensors, lenses, telescopes, computers, keyboards, or any other precision equipment.
DJI's standard propeller guards are not only recommended for drone rookie pilots but also helpful when flying in confined spaces.
